Sobs1 generation of bus is soon to retire. No more of the buses with side destination plate placed on the outside, the squarish one I mean.

Something like that.

Not sure what's it called

All I know is that Simei is getting more and more crowded :(

Now Daiso also have an outlet at East Point and it's like packed too

got dispensation from fatumnette to buy a new toy ..... since I refused to go for the banyan tree spa with her during our honeymoon ....

which one looks more sexy huh ? ...

Accurate Boss twin drag .... the most expensive of the lot ... I think MPB has one of this ...

Daiwa Saltiga

Shimano Torsa

just look at those sexy curves ........

The first picture looked like some kitchen tool where u grate cheese or something...

2nd looked like some gym equipment (aka Centri-flex )

until the 3rd then I notice, fising reel...

Come to think of it, the best I owned last time was only an Abu Garcia...

Fatum SG

abus are fine pieces of gear, but built for different things ....

these reels here are built for offshore heavy duty fishing on braided line with no stretch ...

The shimano does that piece come in Titanium? MPB have a Shimano one too but I don't know which one he have

Seriously I doubt anyone here knows the difference between the reels you showed us. Just go for whatever suits yr needs most

no no... needs is one thing...

but even for things like fishing reels, there's a difference between brand...

Think LV, Prada vs Giodano, Topshop

Pls lor last time maybe la but now those brands all made in cardboard

Even LV also dun hv their lifetime warranty anymore

Anyway he have to compare the part materials and servicing plan for the reels la

I know the 1st one which MPB have comes with dunno how many times free servicing or was it years I forgot

Fatum SG

just admire the curves lah ......

all these are beautiful pieces of engineering, and the embodiment of the philosophy and psyche of different people's too .....

I would use the word sleek and powerful for the accurate, a very typically american product, over engineered with brute strength .... something like a ford mustang GT .... they say you could hang a man off the reel if your fishing line is strong enough ....

the other two are typically japanese ... refined elegance ....... precise engineering ..... like a very finely made watch .....

???

wierd... I know of females who used the same words to associate with bags and heels...

Is this a common template or something???

Fatum SG

which lady would describe a bag with "elegant engineering" ? ....

Well MPB have both: Brute strength and refined engineering

So maybe get the one you don't have

All this talk reminds me of the time a friend of mine (an avid table tennis player) spent $50.... on a new rubber pad for his table tennis racket.

He said that it was precisely-engineered and made of all sorts of funny compounds that made hitting the ping-pong ball easier, etc.....

I told him that it looked like any other piece of rubber sheet to me.

Fatum SG

well, these are not ordinary fishing reels I assure you .....

beautiful pieces of engineering ..... as a mechanical engineer, I think you would be impressed too ....

Btw how much is the Accurate reel -_-"

fudgester SG

Yeah, well, I suppose they're mechanical analogues of electric motors.

You need reels that can provide high torque to handle heavier and more violent breeds of fish. You also need reels that are more refined with high RPMs to handle smaller breeds of fish to make sure you catch them before they can shake themselves loose.

Does that sound about right?

Fatum SG

Btw how much is the Accurate reel -_-"

when MPB first bought it ? .... my guess is around 900 to 1200 .....

it should be slightly ... but only slightly, cheaper now .....

all the three reels costs roughly the same now ....

the accurate was the most expensive because of one piece milled machining etc, instead of cold forged or cast frame ...

Ok it was more expensive then coz it's a new model?

Haha I won't go back to yell at him. No worries. He thinks for a long time before making a purchase anyway and I know he does his research
